R&M, the global Swiss developer and provider of cabling systems for high-quality network infrastructures, has announced that its headquarters in Wetzikon, Switzerland, offices and manufacturing facilities have achieved ISO 9001:2015 recertification.

“To date, less than 1% of ISO 9001 certified companies have received certification in accordance with the new standard. R&M is delighted to be one of the first to be awarded ISO 9001:2015,” says Markus Stieger, COO at R&M. “This achievement underlines our commitment to excellence in products, services and business practices.” Many of the requirements in the updated 9001:2015 standard have been introduced at R&M some time ago, facilitating rapid auditing and certification. Looking forward, the ISO 9001 quality management system will help us to continuously monitor and manage a wide variety of quality aspects and identify areas for further improvement. Introducing efficiency enhancements, streamlining operations and reducing costs, and passing on the resulting benefits to existing and new clients remains R&Ms key focus towards operational excellence.

Ongoing improvement, customer focus and motivation

The ISO 9001 standard defines best practices of a quality management system for the design, manufacturing, installation and services provided by an organisation. ISO 9001:2015 features a stronger focus on performance and has been designed for easy integration with other management systems. The standard is based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, motivation and implication of top management, the process approach and continual improvement. ISO 9001:2015 replaces previous editions and certification bodies will have up to three years to migrate certificates to the new version. R&M has also received other ISO certification, such as ISO 14001 for environmental management systems and product certification including CE_ISO 22196_09_16 and ISO 22196:2011
